Ok so maybe that wasnt all that helpful. Perhaps a brief history would be a little more enlightening. The Moon Chromers exist on alt.chrome.the.moon they are a splinter group of "heretics" from the newsgroup alt.pave.the.earth. They believe, unlike the Earth Pavers, that once the Earth is Paved (PaveDay 1) that the great work should continue and a layer of Chrome should be applied to the Moon. This layer of Chrome will allow them to drive their Hyper-cars at insanely fast speeds across the face of the moon. Sadly many of the Pavers do not look favourably on the idea that anything or anyone should be allowed to drive faster than themselves. Many believe that the only good use for Chrome is on the bumpers of their hypercars. Others are just outright incoherent with anger despite the fact that some versions of the Paver FAQ say that Chroming is acceptable. As a result many Chromers have been labeled heretics and Listed. Should the Pavers not rescind their decision before PaveDay1 these heretics will be rounded up and placed in Pits beneath the asphalt. To carry out varied and disgusting tasks for the Pavers above. Some Pavers have even threatened to make Roadkill of Chromers who do not conform to their particular version of the orthodoxy.
