Subject: UCC Committee Meeting Minutes Date: Fri, 19 July 1996 13:18:00 +0800 X-Venue: loft@cameron-hall.gu.uwa.edu.au X-Present: [JEB] (James Bromberger - Pres.), [NTU] (Nick Bannon - Sec.), [DGC] (David Chinnery - Treas.), [SD:] (Sophie Divliaev - OCM), [DUC] (Duncan Sargeant - OCM), [K?Y] (Kim Yeap - Fresher Rep.), [YAK] (Ian McKellar), [MJH] (Mikolaj Habryn). President's report: Bing. Treasurer's report: +ve $1340. We are missing receipts worth >$900 to us in rebates! ACTION: [MJH] will phone CBM for a replacement receipt for mermaid. The January-June budget is due on Tuesday the 22nd. Incoming/Outgoing Mail: [SD:] Earl Cook Agencies (who supply us with Jolt) rang the GCL - they seem to have gotten a bit confused trying to get in contact with us, and the CSSC. Our last cheque to them didn't include sales tax. We should pay them whatever we owe, and buy MORE! Machine reports: merman: Is NFS-ing wonderfully. marlin: Relatively happy. mermaid: Unhappy. Caching problem? moray: login has been recompiled, along with FTPd, with UCC_HACKs. No coke authentication yet. starfish, beige: Happy. General Business: Drinks: Need to buy more. Web pages: Need a list of current machines, their status and tasks, etc. emotd.html should be done. Shenton Park: [DGC] sent a list off to Simon Frietag. [AJW] thought it should have been more verbose, but [DGC] disagreed for this purpose. However, a verbose list would be very very nice in its own right, and should be put onto our web pages. Auctions: [NTU], [BBB] and Rod Swift went to the auction of the 800 discless 386SX-20's (Bull brand, 4x1MB SIMMs, onboard ethernet), a few of which went for ridiculously high prices. Rod bought a one-off discful one (Compaq, 72 pin SIMM slots, 60MB IDE, interesting IBM ethernet card) and is donating it. More auctions are coming. The next committee meeting should be at 6:00pm, Friday, after a potentially interesting auction inspection. Cleanup: This afternoon. Propaganda officer: Still a good idea. SOCKS: Has been hacked into running again - only SOCKS 4, however. Beige and starfish seem to be using it happily. Sensors: The black box needs to be fixed. A temperature sensor would be nice, and easy with a 68HC11. SMD controller from the US: We'd like it sent by airmail. ACTION: [NTU] will tell [TDH] to tell his contact to send it. Games night: Need to contact Paul Wagland/lounge-staff about one. PAC council: Apparently provides grants for worthy cultural causes/ events. Perhaps something that we do could be suitable - the 22nd anniversary? Door group application: Antony Lord applied for door group. Decision was made to delay consideration of this until he could come in person. Wheel group application: Rod Swift applied for wheel group. There was no official wheel input on this application, but committee was of the opinion that he may like to go into the support mailing alias, but he should not become a wheel member for the moment. Wheel: Perhaps a "work night" would be useful? Perhaps monthly? physical meetings would be useful? Coke/wheel/door: Could do with a purge sometime? Meeting closed: 2:00pm
