Minutes 2/1/01

Present:  GMB, MST, ANT, DTA, TRS, MTL, NTU, ORU

Absent: TAZ, TDH

Prez's Report:
- Did something but can't remember what
- Denies any responsibility for the committee list thing "Damn housemates"

VP's Report:
- Brakes on bike have broken, rode to Uni in record time
- Did nothing

Acting Treasurer's Report:
- Made about $85 on Dinner and raffle

Secretary's Report and Correspondence:
- TAZ absent

Machine Reports:
- Mooneye is lagged because of mail -> need to upgrade it before O'Day

General Business:
- Upgrades:
	- Have some donations
	- Buy CPUs and memory now, but wait till mid February to buy hard
drives, cases, mice, keyboards etc.
	- TRS will test PIII-600 (Coppermine) and based on that GMB will/will not buy
	- Budget still $1500 (Club money) plus donations
	- Want at least one ready by O'Day
- Quiz Night:
	- GMB still needs to photocopy letter
	- Unknown if TAZ has booked the Floreat
	- DTA -> Mt Lawley
	  MST and ANT -> Shenton Park and Subiaco
	  GMB -> Nedlands and Claremont
	  TRS -> Freo
	  TAZ -> Perth
	- Other committee members should advise committee as to what areas
they will cover
	- Other volunteers to help will be greatly appreciated
- O'Day:
	- Computer shops and food places biggest source of sponsorship
	- ANT will tinker with Quiz Night letter
	- TDH offered to do something with the freshers' guide, but
	  hasn't yet.... it's not required yet, but will be soon. GMB
	  will post it to the list and people can add chapters etc
- Keys:
	- TDH has lost his, including Cameron Hall keys
	- GMB wants to leave it for a while, but NTU wants to tell Guild
soon, ie: a deadline. [GMB] guessed two weeks, which would make it the 16th.
	- TDH etc will keep looking for a few weeks before telling Guild
- Cleanup:
	- It was too hot -> didn't happen
	- Will be held on first weekend in Feb at 11am on Sat and if
needed, also on second weekend
- Holiday Events:
	- NTU suggested UCC organise an event each for Jan and Feb
	- ANT suggested a picnic on foreshore on Australia Day, watch
fireworks, then have sleepout-type-thing in Cameron Hall
	- GMB will check with security to
          (a) get a late pass (easy enough)
          (b) organise access to the Cameron Hall balcony for the
              fireworks, which should be a very funky vantage point if
              we're allowed.
