General Business ---------------- * trs80 : need more dlt tapes how many? 3 at least. 13 if we buy a 10-tape caddy (about $AU100, plus shipping) shall we just buy it then? they cost about $33 per DLTIV at the ht.com.au UWA discount price I'll bring some in. Nick: ahh cool, about how many? Probably need to buy some if we get the caddy. Got 4 handy... the caddy will let us backup /home and random machine installs. still tossing up between amanda and bacula (and may move tape drive to new mermaid) what's wrong with manbo? too slow for gzipping and not enough disk space (which the lots of scsi disk will fix in mermaid) both of those are more problems with using amanda on manbo. it works ok as a bacula host but amanda is better imho. more magic scheduling crap so (13 - 4) * $33 + $100 = $397 ... ? (+ shipping) so, I move that we buy a 10 tape caddy, and 9 DLTs when it arrives - Passed unanimously * trs80 : out of paper - PXY to get a big box from Officeworks * matt : tin snips tinsnips... probably about $20-$25 at a guess for something decent? bernard: are ours definitely broken? I can't find them checked the theft book? no .. davyd: Missing, not in theft book, but they were ~$5 Bunnings style. I looked through the tool cupboard about 1/2 a doz times in the last week and couldn't find them... The nibbler's also missing, not in the theft book. nibbler is about $17 - Some discussion about possibly getting a dremel - Will purchase new tin snips and nibbler (about $30 combined), first person to cave should go buy it * dagobah : zone3 Zone 3 ... who's going to be there? I'm not. what night is it? shall we advertise it on the CS lists? this saturday night oh, chris' party as well. UCC price for CSSC members? we need numbers afaict tav would shut at midnightish right? so head from chris's straight to zone? trs80: I say do it so far we've only got one registration what happens if we don't have numbers? we cancel and lose the $100 deposit the current pricing was based on 15 people trs80: did you want to spam csse? yeah, ok * dagobah : prog comp prizes... ideas? vouchers? or sponsored prizes? who wants to set tasks for the programming comp? * bernard is happy to think up something shig was good at it last time though he isn't a good judge cos he said everyone won :P i'll argue with shig then ;) I'm happy to find tasks if someone else wants to judge :) so, bernard and shig will set the tasks? - rambling about prizes, DAG will ask around Meeting Closed: Mon, 20 Jun 2005 15:53:12 +0800
