Treasurer's Report ------------------ - Current balance is $2818.50. - We've received a SOC grant for $620 dollars. - I suspect this is the maximum SOC grant ($500) plus compensation for it being so late. Secretary's Report ------------------ - I've been sick recently, apologies for not turning up to the previous meeting. - Have not checked mail. - [RVS] to check mail after meeting. Fresher Rep's Report -------------------- - [DJA] proudly not breaking the UCC network since his introduction to wheel. - Freshers are happy, probably due to study break. Machine Technical Reports ------------------------- Servers: - madako, the core router, went down on Monday, which broke the network. - Login is being slow, including ssh login. Network: - madako's temporary downtime caused the network to go down, see ucc_status twitter feed for (not much) more information. - Internet connection from Wifi is allegedly poor. Desktops: - Login is slow on UNIX machines. Appliances: - The projector Works (TM) for some value of Works thanks to [BOB]. New Equipment: - Nothing to report. Drinks and Snacks ----------------- - The snack machine is almost fully stocked. - [FEL] got a whole lot of cheap snacks recently, thanks. - The coke machine is out of coke. - [M12] will go on coke run for cheap coke in preparation for the Charity Vigil tonight. - [M12] has taken $160 from the safe to pay for this. - [M12] to go on coke run. Mail, Guild and SOC ------------------- - Mail has not been checked. - Dom Rose visited UCC and other clubs in Cameron Hall, [DAA] reports on what happened. - Guild is definitely renovating Cameron Hall, and we are definitely moving out. - We will not be moving out before November 2010. - Dom Rose was previously not fully aware of the extent of utilisation of space by clubs in Cameron Hall. - Our new clubroom location has not yet been decided. - The new function of Cameron Hall has not yet been decided. - Next SOC meeting is TBC. [DAA] leaves. - [RVS] : Donate profit from Coke machine and snack machine during Charity Vigil to Youth Focus, and whether the UCC constitution allows for this without requiring an SGM. - The third object of the UCC is, according to the constitution, [UCC] shall not transmit any monies or grants to any person or body by way of gift. - However, according to the constitution, the Committee shall be the sole authority for interpreting the meaning of any of the provisions contained in this Constitution or in any regulation of [UCC] policy made thereunder. - [RVS] moves to find that the following is sufficient for satisfying the third object of the club; a sign on the Coke machine stating that profit from items dispensed from the coke machine and snack machine tonight will be donated to Youth Focus.
