President's Report ------------------ - Nothing to report. Vice-President's Report ----------------------- - Fuck yeah, 11 days until I'm finished. - Paid a bill for Resnet from last week of $82.50. Secretary's Report ------------------ - I've had 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours. - We had some mail last week. [SJY] arrives. Treasurer's Report ------------------ - Am mildly freaking out about property exam. Fresher Rep's Report -------------------- - Last day of classes as fresher. - Fresher appear to be happy. [BOB] arrives. Machine Technical Reports ------------------------- Servers: - Circuit 12 in the machine room is having problems, something is tripping it. - Manduba keeps dying, keeps kernel panicking roughly every 6 hours, [JCF] is looking into it. - Both aircons were plugged in to the same power board, this has been rectified. - Power spike occurred on the 15th, mussel, mermaid, madako, mooneye and some desktops were down temporarily because of this. - [DJA] accidentally dd'ed over part of /dev/sdb on meersau which took it down for some time, RAID corrected this without any issues. Network: - Resnet's total bandwidth has been upgraded, as a result we no complaints here. - Network was down briefly with the servers a couple of weeks ago. - A member reported to [RVS] that Joshua Ng (ngj04) was torrenting on one of our machines. - User was given a warning and no further action taken, see email to committee for details. Desktops: - chaenopsis is now running Haiku. - curdane is now running Mandriva and Windows XP. Appliances: - Nothing to report. Mitch's New Equipment: - Two LCD monitors have appeared, see [FEL]'s email about them for more information. Drinks and Snacks ----------------- - [FEL] went on drink and snack run, thanks. Mail, Guild and SOC ------------------- - Received a bill, see Vice-President's report for more information. - New SOC council elected. - SOC meeting occurred. - Extremely short notice resulted in nobody being able to attend. Action Items ------------ - [CJS] to go on snack run. - Did not happen. - [LOL] to investigate the procedure for applying for the SOC Best Club Award. - Done, it is far too late to apply. - [RVS] to organise donation to Jason for charity vigil. - This will occur on Wednesday. General Business ---------------- - [BOB] : Can we please buy an RJ45 crimping tool. Estimated cost $35.
