UCC Committee Meeting Minutes 2013-02-12

President's Report
------------------
 - The cleanup went well, apart from the smelly bins.
 - The Guild are installing can recycling bins outside the ref, which is good.
   - Committee approves.

Vice-President's Report
-----------------------
 - It's bloody hot. Seriously.
 - Cleanup happened, with icy-poles.
   - Historical documents were found, including Cameron Hall plans from 1990
     and a money-making front in the form of a Babbage Club from the 1970s.
 - Fixed Pinball with a quick find-replace of the boot partition location.

Treasurer's Report
------------------
 - We have money, although less than before.
 - Westpac account is running low, after reimbursements to [M12] and [EDO].
 - Westpac account has $2083.15, and will drop by around $700.
 - Paid the phone bills for January, December and from earlier last year which
   we never received paper invoices for. All sorted.

Secretary's Report
------------------
 - Checked the mail, received phone bill/statement and postcard from a Mark.

Fresher Rep's Report

 - I'm back from Japan! Awesome holiday with limited internet.
 - [SAS] says the freshers are happy.
 - I now have a car, so I can do snack/drink runs.

OCM Reports

 - We need to get print jobs to Uniprint by next Wednesday for O-Day stuff.
 - Unigames responded about the quiz night: they selected Ryan to represent
   their club for organisation purposes.
 - Actually looked at the calendar.

[M12]
 - Banner ordered!
 - Fresher guide nearly done!
 - Working on navigational posters.
 - Took photos of getting to UCC for instructional purposes.
 - Quiz night not yet booked.
 - Has been busy.

[GOZ]
 - Nothing to report.

Machine Technical Reports

Servers
 - Mylah's Samba config broke things for a while, rolled-back to working copy.
   - Thanks to [TPG] for fixing it.

Network
 - Mostly works. No glaring issues.
   - No recent complaints.
 - UCC wireless works for some people and not others.
   - [SLX] to debug, [DTK] to assist.

Desktops
 - Pinball is less broken now. Thank [SLX] and sed.

Appliances
 - Vacuum cleaner! It's a good Hoover Hurricance bagless.
 - Microwave was cleaned at the cleanup.

Drinks and Snacks

 - We are out of null-coke.
 - Need a drinks run for O-Day, [TPG] is already nominated to do this.

Mail, Guild and SOC
-------------------
 - There was mail, phone bill and postcard.
 - SOC meeting tomorrow, [M12] is going.

Action Items

 - [TPG] to do a snack run.
   - Not yet done.
 - [EDO] to start preparing a financial report and budget for the year.
   - Not yet done. Looked at last year's, we kind of followed it.
 - [TPG] to contact Talitha about her personal documents found on the printer.

 - [M12] and [EDO] to begin organising Quiz Night, particularly sponsors.
   - There is a date, stuff is happening.
   - Now the responsibility [M12] and [GOZ].
 - [EDO] to purchase a screen for pinball.
   - Done. On it's way. It cost only $280.
 - [BOB] to purchase security cables.
   - Done. Screen attachments are in the safe.
 - [M12] to order banner.
   - Done.
 - [M12] to order vacuum cleaner.
   - Done.
 - [M12] to continue work on sponsor prospectus.
   - In progress.
 - [EDO] will check with the Guild that we actually have a skip that will suit
   several couches.
   - No conclusive answer, but we successfully disposed of couches in a skip.

General Business
----------------
 - [TPG] : Another Polo/Shirt run?
   - We still have polo shirts, but we could get t-shirts.
   - First step: advertise the currently available shirts!

 - O-Day float required.
   - [EDO] will check the safe and contact Henry if necessary.

 - [BOB] would like a Boot-Lace Ferrule Crimp Tool, $47.72 from Altronics.
   - [EDO] moves that we get this tool, [GOZ] seconds. 4 for, 3 against, 1
     abstained.
   - Opposition was based on lack of current need.
   - [BOB] to purchase.

 - Security for the club laptop, need a Kensington cable.
   - $25 estimate.
   - [EDO] to investigate laptop security cable.

 - We need a price for camp tickets before we start selling them.
   - Costs aren't going to change, and we can afford to make a loss on the
     event. Price will be the same, at $80 for members.
   - Want to promote the camp to freshers, so put on a special - $75 if you
     buy it with a membership.
   - Write the camp ticket info on the membership form!
